Kevin Dennis, a civil engineering major at Clemson University, is a 2024 recipient of the Bill and Shireen Kirk Scholarship.
Kevin shared, “Awards like these go a long way, especially with the rising cost of college. There are so many professional organizations in our industry, including this one, that provides scholarships, professional development, and networking opportunities which help pave the way for young people like me to grow and learn about our industry (pun intended!)”
This summer, Kevin has been working for a local engineering and consulting firm that provides design and permitting services for residential, commercial and municipal development projects in South Carolina. As he thinks about life after graduation, he is strongly considering the industry as a field engineer for a general contracting company. He said, “My past internship helped me see that I enjoy working with others in the field to get the job done. I appreciate the support and can’t wait to graduate in May!”
Scholarship funds totaling $25,000 were awarded to Kevin (along with four other students) for the 2024-25 school year. Since the program’s inception in 2020, over $113,000 in scholarship funds have been awarded to students across the United States.
